“Go throughout the whole world and preach the Gospel to all mankind“- Mark 16:15
The Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists’ Association had a very humble beginning. Believers interested in evangelistic and intercessory activities used to assemble periodically for prayer and fellowship. In 1924, the late Metropolitan, Dr. Abraham Mar Thoma took the initiative and leadership in forming an organization among these believers. Later on, the activities were extended to different parish levels and the unit of organization established was named the “Edavaka Mission”.
The Carmel Mar Thoma Church Edavaka Mission unit was established in 2010 and functions as a strong body in Christ’s service. The members of the Edavaka Mission should be active in following the seven steps of our mission such as, Bible study, Intercessory Prayer, Sharing experience, serving the sick, Prayer Group activities, House visit and Evangelism. The motto of Edavaka Mission is “every Marthomite is a voluntary evangelist”.
The Carmel Marthoma Church Edavaka Mission carries on the works of the Evangelists Associationby organising Edavaka Mission meetings at the residence of parish members every first Fridays of the month at 7:00PM
